The optional high performance integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) module is positioned on the upper edge of the display housing for optimum performance and satellite access within 2.5m or better accuracy. The GoBook VR-2's quadra-helix antenna provides faster, more reliable and more accurate fixes than dipole or patch antennas found in competitor products. Additionally, high sensitivity SiRF III firmware and software load provides lower acquisition and tracking thresholds to improve performance. Quite simply, this is the best performing GPS in the ruggedized notebook market.

With its industry leading innovations, the GoBook VR-2 is the platform to make mission-critical mobile workers more productive. The GoBook VR-2 was developed with multiple input options, a first-class graphics capability, upgradeable internal radio cards and memory, and a "no tools needed" removable shock-mounted hard drive. Inside or outside, day or night, the GoBook VR-2 is packed with features that make on-the-go computing as simple as possible. The integrated dual task lights and a sensor-controlled brightness display overcome the problems of night time data entry and the innovative DynaVue display technology provides unparalleled outdoor viewability.

Meeting military specifications for vibration, humidity & temperature range, the GoBook VR-2 can perform in conditions that would stop a commercial notebook computer in its tracks. Operating at -4°F* to 140°F and with excellent shock and spill-proofing, the GoBook VR-2 will survive some pretty abusive incidents.
